The AN/APR-39(V)1 Radar Signal Detecting Set is a light weight radar receiver for general aircraft application. GENERAL:
The APR-39(V)2 Radar Detecting Set is a special version of the AN/APR-39(V) family which utilizes a digital processor and alphanumeric display to provide warning of radar directed air defense threat systems for the Special Electronic Mission Aircraft. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
The AN/APR-39(V)2 was designed to be compatible with the aircraft provisions for the AN/APR-39(V)1. This compatibility allows for the replacement of the (V)1 comparator with a (V)2 digital processor and the (V)1 operator control unit with a (V)2 control unit. No aircraft wiring changes are required. The total system weight is 19.8 pounds.
THREAT COVERAGE:
The system has the capability of detecting all pulse radars normally associated with hostile surface-to-air missiles, airborne intercepts and anti-aircraft weapon systems. The threat display is changed to an alphanumeric symbol as opposed to the strobe in the (V)1 system.
